However, for post-tragedy shenanigans one cannot really hold others responsible. It is the Indians - our own people, politicians, officials and the judiciary - let the victims down. Unfortunately at that time there was no 24X7 media which could highlight the all round malfeasance that came into playProloy Bagchihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05642253410210767969noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-982173487704433191.post-18305929384947679902010-07-05T03:03:31.382+05:302010-07-05T03:03:31.382+05:30Sad sad story. I wonder how much pressure American authorities were also putting on the top echelons in India. Future dealings and benefits at risk? And that's why I don't really agree that America and Anderson are not to be blamed in this. So many parties must share blame: the local officials of the business, who obviously indulged in poor or non-existent safety practices; the American superiors who either didn't see this, or decided not to look; local authorities who ignored the development of a shanty town, or densely populated residential area around the site, where no residential accommodation was supposed to be; state of federal inspectors who surely are required to follow the practices of businesses such as this, and either did not, or turned a blind eye to sloppy or dangerous practices.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
